EORU U18 to attend 2010 Cherry Blossom Invitational Tournament
The Eastern Ontario Junior Men have been invited to the 2010 Cherry Blossom tournament that is hosted by the Washington Rugby Football Club. The dates for the tournament are April 10 & 11. (Rugby Canada registration for 2009 ends April 30, 2010)
We will only be taking players who were registered last year. This is an event for the 2009 team (there was no tour to the Eastern Canada Championships), not selection for the 2010 team, which will occur at a later date. Any shortages will be filled by area club players.
We will have our second indoor training session on Saturday February 20 from 11:00am – 12:30 at the Bell Sensplex dome at 1565 Maple Grove Road, Kanata, Ontario, K2V 1A3. Please arrive at least fifteen minutes early to check in and change. If you were not at the first session in December there is a fee of twenty dollars due to help pay for the field cost.
All registered junior men are welcome to participate. This will also allow us to look at new club players and those moving up in an age group towards next year’s (2010) sides.
Thanks for your support.

2009 Junior Men trials results
We would like to thank all the participants for their effort and commitment to improving their rugby skills. While not all will be with us for this season, we would like to encourage everyone to join their local club and continue to improve their game. During the season, as required due to injuries or absences we will bring up players from area clubs. If you are not playing with a club you will not be eligible. We will scout the area clubs to fill vacancies.
Thanks to all of the volunteers who spent the day with us working on the selection of this year’s players. Thanks also to our sponsors, The Scottish and Irish Store, Enertel Electric and Father and Sons Restaurant.
All selected players must have completed the registration process with their club before they will be allowed to play in a game situation. The registration process involves your club processing your paperwork and payment through to Rugby Ontario in order to be covered by the Rugby Canada group insurance. If you are not registered you will need to arrive at your club’s practice with a completed Rugby Canada registration form including having the parent/guardian waiver signed if you are under 18 years of age. The second page is only necessary if you were playing with a different club last year.
You are expected to be an active member with your club team (practices and games). We will be asking the clubs to advise us if players are not showing up. Information about the area clubs is available through this website.
Practices for the E.O.R.U. squads will be held Sundays from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Canterbury high school (900 Canterbury Ave. Ottawa, ON K1G 3A7).
All players and parents / guardians: please send an email to Head Coach Danny Leeson danny.leeson@ocdsb.ca and Manager Mike Donaldson eorujrmen@gmail.com include your name and which player you are connected with. Thanks for the assistance.
