NCCP Coaching Certification

The certification requirements for coaching rugby have changed. The old NCCP system required coaches to complete three parts in order to obtain a specific level of coaching certification (e.g. Level 2).

If you are fully certified at the old Level 2 then you are not required to complete the new format.


“Introduction to Competition”
This is the new coaching certification program. It made up of four components:

1. Complete the Introduction to Competition course. You are now considered a “Trained Coach”
2. Complete a practice plan. This is submitted to the ORU Development Director
3. Have this practice plan evaluated at a training session
4. Complete the online “Making Ethical Decisions” quiz (found at the Coaching Association of Canada website)
