The Ottawa Selects have risen from the ashes to relace the Harlequin’s as the EORU’s senior men’s rep side. Although a new team name is in place, we’re soliciting ideas for a name that represents our region. Please send in your ideas for a name or logo to mens@rugbyottawa.com. 

Selections and practice for the Ottawa (EORU) Selects begin Wednesday, April 28th at 6:00 p.m. at Confederation High School (rear field). All players who are interested in representing EORU on the Selects senior men’s rep side are invited to attend. In order to be considered for EORU’s representative honours, players must be recommended by their club coaches and attend the selection practice sessions.  The number of practice sessions will be limited to Wednesdays.

The Selects will represent EORU when they compete against the British Police Touring Side at Twin Elm Rugby Park on Wednesday, May 19th at 6:30pm. This is a excellent opportunity for us to form a strong rep side and showcase the talent we have here. It’s also a great event to get the rugby community out and in the stands! 
  
In addition to the British Police match in May the Selects are confirmed for play on Sunday, June 6th against the Quebec Caribou at Twin Elm. A return game against the Caribou is being planned. The Selects have also arranged a match versus the Valley Selects, a team of EORU players who represent the teams surrounding Ottawa from the valley to the St. Lawrence. Once dates are confirmed, they will be posted here and communicated to clubs and players.

The Ottawa Selects Head Coach, Greg Thaggard, and Assistant Coach, Mark Patterson, are pleased to announce Stu Ault will be joining the Coaching Staff. Stue will play and assist with coaching responsibilities moving forward. Please join us in welcoming Stu Ault to our team! Stu also lives in the east end and so we’ve secured a training pitch in that area from late May. This may allow us to better accommodate players from central and east Ottawa who otherwise would have to travel to the west end to participate. 

The Ottawa Selects are pleased to bring the EORU a strong elite rugby program that we can be proud of. We just couldn’t make it happen without all the support we receive from our members in the community!
