Coaching Opportunity: Ottawa Beavers Banshees RFC

The Ottawa Beavers Banshees RFC are looking for a Women’s Coach for the 2010 Summer Season. 

Description:
The Women’s season runs from the beginning of May to the end of August.  The club practices Tuesday and Thursday (twice a week) with games on Saturdays.  Practices are held centrally and matches are out of Twin Elm Rugby Park in the west end of the city.  The club is part of EORU Division I and most of games are played in Ottawa.

Responsibilities: 
The club asks all coaches to commit to one practice per week plus league games from the beginning of May through the end of August.  Coaches will be tasked with running practices and making selections.  On game days, coaches will manage warm up, substitutions and actively coach all players. 

Experience:
2-3 years coaching experience is preferred

Benefits:
The club is interested in developing coaching within the organization and as such is willing to sponsor coaches to attend clinics and courses. The summer schedule is flexible and coaches can take advantage of assistant coaches and senior players to fill in as required.

Our Organization:
The club has a long history and plenty of character.  The Banshees were the first women’s team in the city and the Beavers are the oldest club.  The two amalgamated in 2000 to form the Ottawa Beavers Banshees RFC.  Since then the club as fielded both Senior women’s and U18 teams.  Members of the club have gone on to represent on Canada Senior, U23 and U19, Quebec Senior, Ontario Senior, U23, U19 and U17. Nevertheless, the club remains committed to providing a meaningful experience to all levels of players. The club is also a proud part owner of Twin Elm Rugby Park.

Additional Notes: 
All personnel working with players under the age of 18 will be required to undergo a police check.
