EORRS will be conducting two IRB 1 Rugby Referee Courses in Ottawa prior to the 2008 season:

The IRB 1 Course is the prerequiste course for refereeing either high school or club contact rugby. The qualification is good until 31 Dec in the fourth year after the course (i.e., 31 Dec 11 for courses in 2008). Anyone who plans to referee this year, but who last took a referee course in 2004 or before needs to take another one to be reaccredited as a referee for 2008.

The courses will run from about 8 AM to 6 PM. The cost is $100 ($50 for students). Participants are advised to review the Laws of the Game on the IRB website (www.irb.com) prior to the course. There are practical sessions involved so loose, casual clothing is recommended.
